The Drakensberg offers a lot of backpacking infrastructure with backpacker
hostels, backpacker tours and excellent activities. The Drakensberg
Mountains Form the border between Kwa Zulu Natal and Lesotho. These
spectacular mountains tower 3000 m above sea level with fabulous
peaks and escarpments, crystal clear streams and mountain pools,
breath taking waterfalls and plenty full of rare wildlife. In
winter these ranges are snow capped and the days are bright and sunny.
Excellent hiking and many bushman caves and paintings to visit. Its
little wonder that backpacking here has become so popular

Sani Pass is the great attraction and they highest peak is at this gate
way to Lesotho the mountain Kingdom.
This breathtaking area extends from Giants Castle to Cathkin Peak. A
virtual time capsule containing mans history from many moons ago until the
present. About 80% of all Paleolithic artifact from the South African
region can be found here. Visit ancient bushman sites, hike up to the High
Berg or explore the Little Berg with all its indigenous forests and
streams.
Roughly the area from Qwa Qwa down to Cathedral Peak. Visit the
Amphitheatre and Mount - Aux - Source in the Royal Natal
National Park - the views are hair raisingly beautiful.
